G10 CELL REFLECTION
Essential Questions
a. How are structure and function related?
The structure and function are related because structure is what it look like and it is the shape of the organelles. Function is the job of the organelles in the cell. For an example, the stomach wall structure has a foldings that protect the glands from acid and it can be use to increase the surface area.
b. How are all cells similar and different?
Plant , Animal, prokaryotic, and eukaryotic cells are different because plant cell do have a chloroplast and cell wall but animal cell do not have chloroplast and cell wall. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic are different because Prokaryotic do not have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelle but eukaryotic do have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. The shape of the plant cells are rectangular shape, but animal cells are likely a round shape. The similarities of all cells is that they are all cells. They are made of existing cell and they are all the basic unit of life.
c. How does the cell membrane keep cells in homeostasis?
The plasma membrane control 2 layer of 2 lipid materials with protein molecules located outside of the cell. It has 2 kind which are the hydrophilic and the hydrophobic. The hydrophilic is the one that focusing outside and inside of the cell membrane. Hydrophobic is the one that form the center of the cell.
2) How does what you learned connect to the real world?
The thing that I have learned connect to the real world because every living things in the real world was made by cells. Animals are made up of animals cell, a type of cell that do not have chloroplast and cell wall.
3) How did you develop or grow as a student through this unit?
I grow as a student through this unit because I’ve learned more and new stuff about cells. Being responsible studying and working on projects, such as the cell analogy project. I also develop as a student through this unit studying for the test about Cells.
4) As you look at the work you have completed throughout this unit, what are you strengths?
I think that my strengths throughout this unit are doing a good research for the cell organelles function and reason for the cell analogy. I did a good job on being creative on my Airport cell analogy.
5) As you look at the work you have completed throughout this unit, what do you think you could improve?
I think I could improve by be prepare to know all the organelles and function of the organelles for the Airport cell Analogy and be confident for the presentation.
