Who are Morrie Schwartz and Mitch Albom?

Mitch is Morrie’s former student and the narrator of the book. After Mitch’s graduation, he aspired to be a professional pianist, but he failed after a few attempts. Unfortunately, his uncle died of pancreatic cancer, then he now feels that time is precious. So he wanted to work hard to be a financial success. After Mitch earns his master's degree in journalism and take his first job writing for The Detroit Free Press. Finally, he succeed in financial but feels unfulfilled. He spends all of his time working, and never have a moment to enjoy to himself and his family. After he found Morrie’s episode of Nightline, he then contacts him for a meeting every Tuesdays to discuss life.

Morrie is a sociology professor at Brandeis University. Unluckily, he was devastated by the fact that he was diagnosed with ALS. He realizes that he is dying and learned to accept his death. Eventually, Morrie wanted to share his philosophies, on the meaning of life with the world through “Nightline” show with Ted Koppel and “Tuesdays with Morrie” written by his former student, Mitch Albom.
